WRITEN BY CYRIL DION & VALERIE ROSSELINI DIRECTED BY THIERRY ROBERT

Earth revival

After the immense success of “Demain” in France (César 2016), Cyril Dion embarks us on his new ambitious project: Renaissance. The situation is more serious than ever, as the COVID epidemic demonstrates. Why have we come to this? What to do ? How to prepare for the inevitable shock?

By traveling the world – more than 15 countries – Cyril takes us on a journey to meet the actors who have revolutionized a region, a country, an activity, and who are showing the way. They regenerated the earth, the oceans, created the schools of tomorrow or the democracy of the future… At the end of the day, Cyril Dion offers us a new story, that of a more just civilization, and which gives a lot of hope.

UNTIL THE LAST BREATH

WRITTEN BY MABANCKOU & THIERRY ROBERT | DIRECTED BY THIERRY ROBERT

Blackness ?

Alain Mabanckou takes us on a journey that mimics the journey of his life, from Congo-Brazzaville, his native country, to France and to the United States of America. At the heart of the 4 key cities of his destiny: Pointe-Noire, Paris, Detroit, Los Angeles, he embodies this contemporary African, takes us into his reverie, and his reflections, like a long cinematographic tracking shot over encounters and places.

In the accounts of explorers and adventurers from the last centuries to the present day, he observes this systematically “exotic” and paternalistic look at Africa and Africans, where the black is more the object of curiosity than human being, a savage, in all. lower points. With his big laugh, he dismantles this narrow view of humanity. At her side, we take a journey through our history, on one side of the mirror or the other, this story is common to us, whether we like it or not, whether we dare to look it in the face or not …

WHEN WE TALK ABOUT THE WOLF

WRITTE? & DIRECTED BY EMERIC MISSUD | PRODUCTED BY THIERRY ROBERT & NICOLAS ZUNINO

The return of the wolf

Returning to France for thirty years, the wolf is gradually spreading over the entire national territory and its repeated attacks on herds threaten pastoralism. Between Gironde and Dordogne, in the Double forest, dozens of breeders feel threatened. They call on Antoine Nochy, an ecological engineer specializing in cohabitation with the predator.

By involving farmers and scientists, this “detective of the wild” wants to prove the presence of the wolf in the region, in order to set in motion a state-backed protection system as quickly as possible, and thus avoid the first attacks. Because he is convinced that protecting the wolf is first and foremost protecting the breeders, Nochy suggests that we do pragmatic ecology, by rethinking our relationship with the wild, in what is most difficult as more beautiful.

NEWFOUNDLAND MARE INCOGNITA

WRITTEN BY ALAIN ZENOU | DIRECTED BY LUC MARESCOT & DIDIER NOIROT

Whales and capelin

Didier Noirot is one of the greatest underwater cameramen in the Universe, honored with prestigious awards. His love for underwater wildlife and the great outdoors led him to Newfoundland, this Canadian island located at the crossroads of the Arctic and Atlantic oceans.

He wants to conduct a real field survey to meet local fishermen and scientists. He seeks to understand how global warming impacts this entire ecosystem and in particular, a little-known natural phenomenon: the reproduction of capelin. Why do capelin seem to spawn more and more in northern Newfoundland and at deeper and deeper depths? Do whales still manage to feed on capelin when the latter are becoming scarce? Will humpback whales ultimately suffer from this change in the behavior of their prey?

This extreme adventure, on land and in icy waters, will also be the opportunity to share more intimate reflections on his extraordinary life journey, from his first dives with Commander Cousteau to his recent committed dives, in company of the most impressive animals on the planet.

Ocean’s battle

Since the end of the 19th century, the world’s major naval powers have pioneered increasingly powerful fleets of warships. The oceans have become strategic battlegrounds. These ships have been designed to outperform other warships, resist attack and match the firepower of any formidable enemy. But these Clash of the Titians have rarely been captured on film, and the wrecks of some of these defeated giants can lie hundreds of metres below the surface of the ocean. Yet, luckily, some these steel monsters have been given new life as floating museums or teaching ships and can be found all over the globe. They bear witness to the technological advances of their age, the developments made in naval engineering in the 20th century, and the history of war at sea. These floating superstructures are the forebears of our aircraft carriers, battleships and modern destroyers, which still play an important strategic role in global politics today: the command of the sea.

By retracing the history of these legendary ships, this innovative television series, which features previously unseen archive footage as well as photorealistic 3D models in 4K, will immerse the viewer and take them to the heart of the naval battles that made history.
